What’s New in Movegistics AI: August 2026
Property exceptions, truck weight tickets, storage billing, and seven more releases from August.

August 2026 shipped 10 releases across four release days, and they share a theme worth naming: evidence. Three of the month’s biggest items exist to capture proof at the moment it matters — the condition of a customer’s hallway before the crew starts carrying, the scale ticket that justifies a weight-based invoice, the supporting PDF that has to travel with the bill. The rest tightened storage billing, sales reporting, and close-out control. This roundup is the operator’s version: what shipped, why it affects your P&L, and where to find it in the CRM. Full step-by-step release notes live on the Movegistics AI Product Updates board.
If you only read three sections, read these: Property Exceptions builds a tamper-proof damage record across app, CMS, and customer portal, Truck Weight Tickets puts scale tickets and automatic net-weight math in the crew’s hands, and Storage In / Storage Out plus the new company Storage tab close a long-standing gap in how storage jobs are set up and billed.
QR Digital Inventory & Field Documentation
Property Exceptions in Mover Inventory (August 30)
Damage claims rarely turn on the condition of the goods alone. They turn on the wall, the banister, the elevator door, the lawn. Until now the digital inventory documented items; property condition lived in whatever photos a crew lead happened to take on a personal phone.
Property Exceptions closes that gap. At both the origin (Add Items to Inventory) and destination (Remove Items from Inventory) stages, a crew can record a property exception at Begin Stage, before any activity starts, and again at End Stage. Each record carries photos, the damaged property type (wall, floor, door, elevator, landscaping, and more), the area or room, the damage type, a note, the worker’s name, and the driver’s initials and signature.
What makes it an evidence chain rather than a photo dump is the sourcing. Every record is labeled by origin across three tabs — Crew for entries made in the app, Admin for entries the shipment owner logs in the CMS when a customer phones something in, and Customer for entries submitted through the customer portal — all grouped by Origin and Destination, and all visible in the app, the CMS, and the portal. When a customer submits one, the shipment owner gets a New Property Exception email with the shipment, customer, and damage details.
The detail that matters in a dispute: crew-recorded exceptions lock read-only once the stage completes. The field record cannot be edited after the fact. Only CMS and customer entries stay editable. On by default; Settings → Shipment Type → Exception Settings → Allow Property Exception makes a property exception mandatory before the crew can start or complete a stage.
Truck Weight Tickets in Mover Inventory (August 30)
For interstate and van line work, weight is the invoice. August put scale tickets in the app at the stages where trucks actually get weighed, reached from the Shipment Details actions menu at the origin and destination stages.
Crews capture the ticket number, date of weighing, weight type (Light, Heavy, or Reweigh), the weight itself, tractor and trailer numbers, commodity, carrier name, carrier signature, and a JPG or PNG photo of the physical ticket. Ticket number, date, weight type, weight, carrier name, signature, and photo are required; tractor, trailer, and commodity are optional.
The arithmetic is handled for you. Net Weight is Heavy minus Light. Final Net Weight is the lower of Net Weight and the most recent Reweigh. Both calculate automatically, with in-app tooltips explaining the rule, which removes a genuinely error-prone step from billing. Every uploaded ticket syncs to the Mover Inventory CMS under View Shipment → Documents → Truck Weight Tickets, grouped by Light, Heavy, and Reweigh with ticket number, weight, weighing date, and View Details — and the same view appears in the customer portal. On by default; Settings → Shipment Type → General Settings → Upload Truck Weight Ticket requires a ticket before the crew can complete the origin or destination stage.

Storage
Storage In & Storage Out Selection for Storage Moves (August 13)
Checking Storage on a work request now reveals explicit Storage In and Storage Out radio buttons, with Storage In selected by default. The organization’s Corporate Location address is then placed automatically — as the Destination for Storage In, as the Origin for Storage Out — and switching between the two moves the address accordingly.
The direction stays visible everywhere the job appears: a Storage In / Storage Out chip on the Move Summary of the work request detail screen, and new Storage and Storage Type columns in the work requests list. A small change that removes a recurring source of address errors on storage jobs.
Storage Tab on the Company Profile (August 21)
Company profiles gain a Storage tab alongside Payments, Invoices, and Work Orders, consolidating every storage shipment created from the CRM and pushed to Mover Inventory for that company into a single view.
Each row shows Customer Name, Shipment ID, MI Shipment ID, Subscription ID and status, Subscription Start Date, Recurring Charge, Next Charge Date, and Shipment Name. Clicking the MI Shipment ID opens that shipment’s View Shipment screen in the Mover Inventory CMS. The list is searchable and exportable, and requires no configuration — the tab appears automatically. Built for corporate and account clients running multiple storage shipments under one company, where recurring charges and next-charge dates previously had to be chased shipment by shipment.
Billing & Invoicing
PDF Attachments on Invoices (August 13)
Attach one or several supporting PDF documents while creating or editing an invoice, under Invoice Module → Invoice Info → Add Attachment. Attached files are included automatically when the invoice is emailed, so terms and conditions, receipts, and supporting paperwork arrive in the same message as the bill instead of a separate follow-up. PDF only, minimum 0.1 KB and maximum 7 MB per file, with multiple attachments supported per invoice.
A Faster, Single-Screen Invoice Experience (August 13)
The Invoice module’s three separate screens — Contact Info, Invoice Info, Preview — are consolidated into one. Customer and invoice information, line items, remarks, and totals now sit on a single screen, with Next going straight to the preview.
The customer section pre-populates when you invoice from a work request, work order, or contact, and collapses once confirmed. Line items take the full width, with sales tax, discount, subtotals, service tax, credit card fees, deposit received, and grand total alongside them. This is a layout change only: all fields, data, templates, and the send flow are unchanged. Live from contacts, work requests, work orders, and the invoice list.
Sales & Reporting
Survey Report — Owner-Level Survey Performance (August 21)
A new report under Sales → Reports showing how each work request owner converts new work requests into scheduled surveys, completed surveys, and booked moves. Nine columns per owner — Owner Name, Total WR Added, Total Survey Scheduled, Total Survey Completed, Survey Completion Rate, Total WR with Survey Booked, WR to Booking Conversion, WR with Survey Scheduled, and WR with Survey Completed — with all percentages calculated automatically.
Filterable by Created From/To date range and by Owner, with Export and full-screen Expand like other sales reports. If you have ever suspected that survey completion rate is the real constraint on your booking rate rather than lead volume, this is the report that settles it per rep.
One-Click Contact & Company Links Across Your Grids (August 28)
The Contact Name and Company Name columns now behave consistently across Sales Work Requests, Sales Estimates, and Operations Work Orders. Clicking a contact opens that contact’s detail page in the Contacts module; clicking a company opens the correct company record in the Companies module.
Sales Work Requests and Sales Estimates gain a clickable Company Name column, where contact links already worked, and Operations Work Orders gains both. Nothing to set up — the links are part of the columns themselves, so they work in any saved view that displays them, and rows with no associated company simply show a dash. Built for reps, dispatchers, and account managers who jump from a grid row to the record behind it dozens of times a day.
Crew App
Three New Crew App Permissions (August 21)
Three close-out controls added under Settings → Crew App → General → App Permission, each toggled independently per service type (Local, Intrastate, Interstate, Commercial, International):
- Terms & Conditions Acknowledgement Required — shows the T&C checkbox in the Final BOL confirmation popup and blocks confirmation until it is accepted. This one is enforced, not cosmetic.
- Show Carrier Signature in Final BOL — shows or hides the Carrier Signature section. Visibility only, with no added validation.
- Carry Forward — enables or disables the Carry Forward option in the Crew App. When disabled the button is hidden entirely, so the full balance is collected at close-out.
BOL Confirmation Timing for Multi-Day Jobs (August 13)
A new Crew App setting, Show BOL Confirmation Popup For Multi-Day Jobs, controls whether the delivery acknowledgment, terms and conditions, and shipper and carrier signatures are collected on the First Work Order, the Last Work Order, or All Work Orders. It defaults to All Work Orders, matching prior behavior, so nothing changes until you change it.
It is configured independently of Show Tip Popup For Multi-Day Jobs, which defaults to Last Work Order, so signatures and tips can be timed separately. When both fall on the same work order, the crew sees BOL confirmation, then tips, then payment. Find it under Settings → Crew App → General → Default.
